Many of you were curious if we are keeping an eye on Airbnb and VRBO. Here’s how we make sure everyone pays fairly: on a daily basis the Administrator monitors all online rental sites. Once a month an audit is completed for Airbnb and VRBO.

Forty four (44) of the newly permitted properties (102) in 2015 were found through investigative work by the Commission and permitted through compliance channels. Investigative compliance is up from 38% in 2014 to 44% in 2015.
In 2016 60 or (51.7% of all permitted properties) were permitted via compliance efforts.
In 2017, 134 new permit were issues compared to 116 in 2016. In 2017, 63 of the permits or 47% of the 134 were permitted because of compliance efforts.
In 2018, 209 new permits were issues from 5-10-18 to 5-17-19. Of the 209 new pemits, 83 properties or 39.71% were permitted via compliance efforts.
In 2019, for the period of 5/17/19 - 5/20/20: Compliance efforts resulted in 45 properties (27.44%) successfully permitted out of the total 164 permitted in 2019.
